Hampshire-Henpeck HCE to attend annual luncheon May 10

The Hampshire-Henpeck Unit of Home and Community Education will attend Kane County Association Home and Community Education's 99th annual meeting on Wednesday, May 10, at the Mill Creek Golf Club, 39W525 Herrington Drive in Geneva.

Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the meeting at 11 a.m.

Enjoy a buffet lunch and a chance to renew friendships with fellow members. In the program, meet "Marie Antoinette, The Queen of France" as she comes to visit to talk about her life, loves and intrigues, portrayed by Martina Mathisen.

At the April meeting, the Hampshire-Henpeck HCE had an awesome discussion on "The Best Pet I've Ever Had And Why." It sparked a lively discussion on all the different types of pets members cherished over the years. They also wish to express a thank you to the hostesses Jan Ihssen and Barbara Janicak for their delicious treats.

Hampshire-Henpeck HCE will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, for a guided tour of the facility and operations at the Burlington-Hampshire Area Food Pantry, 147 Mill Ave.

Tours will be given under the direction of Barbara Brust. After the tour, members will meet around 1:15 p.m. at Heartland Bank, Route 72 and Warner, Hampshire, for the meeting. Two books will be donated to the Ella Johnson Memorial Public Library in honor of deceased member Pat Lehman. They also will discuss the luncheon for June. Join them this month for a new way to learn, discuss and enjoy friends. Refreshments will be served by hostesses Peggy Gross and Barbara Mursu.

For details, call Geraldine Rizik, (847) 683-2784 or Barbara Janicak, (847) 946-4696. All are invited to attend.
