Jim Witter to perform Beatles music at CLC

The Beatles captured the world's attention with their songs, providing a musical soundtrack to the historical events of the '60s and '70s.

On Saturday, May 13, relive some of the Beatles magic when award-winning singer/songwriter Jim Witter returns to the College of Lake County to present "The Long and Winding Road."

In this hit-filled, multimedia concert, Witter brings his powerful voice and infectious personality to the stage, sharing the songs and stories behind the music of John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

The concert will be presented at 8 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts at the CLC Grayslake Campus, 19351 W. Washington St.

Witter and his band will re-create some of the Beatles' greatest hits, including "Hard Day's Night," "Nowhere Man," "Help," "Hey Jude," "Let it Be" and countless others. Audiences will learn interesting facts about how some of these songs came to be, and what inspired Lennon and McCartney to write some of the most memorable music of their time.

Witter's versatility has allowed him the opportunity to share his music with audiences across Canada and the United States. From his first self-titled record to "All My Life" and "Forgiveness," Witter has had 10 top ten radio hits in Canada and seven hit videos on CMT.

His music and songwriting have earned him multiple awards and nominations from the Canadian Country Music Association, the Juno Awards and the Dove Awards, where "Forgiveness" was nominated for Inspirational Album of the year.

Several years ago, Witter came up with the concept for "Piano Men," a musical journey through the '70s featuring the songs of Billy Joel and Elton John, which he performed at CLC in March 2016. To learn more, visit www.jimwitter.ca/the-long-and-winding-road.
