Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois name top cookie sellers

The Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois is proud to announce the top Girl Scout Cookie sellers of 2017. These 17 Girl Scouts sold at least 2,500 boxes.

Four Scouts from Troop 643 in Streamwood were on the list: Kayla Mele, 3,054 boxes; Marissa Dambra, 3,028; Guinevere Larson, 2,510; and Lillian Schaefer, 2,510.

Brooklyn Czenk and Amber Arnold from Troop 765 in Aurora brought in 3,020 and 2,552 boxes, respectively.

Caitlyn Hazelwood and Angelina Lackey from Troop 1807 in McHenry were near the top of the list with 3,012 and 3,000 boxes, respectively.

Molly Boerner and Elizabeth Busboom from Troop 4863 in Plano both brought in 3,000 boxes.

Other top cookie sellers are: Keiana Smith of Troop 1735 in Crystal Lake, 2,500 boxes; Francesca Bove of Troop 643 in Hanover Park, 2,505 boxes; Katrina Rath of Troop 559 in Hampshire, 3,003 boxes; Teresa Merlo of Troop 988 in Harvard, 2,520 boxes; Lauren McCauley of Troop 404 in Poplar Grove, 2,533 boxes; Kimberly Mlsna of Troop 102 in Roscoe, 2,729 boxes; and Mabel Thompson-Durham of Troop 879, St. Charles, 2,500 boxes.

It was the third consecutive year at 2,500-plus boxes for Kayla Mele, Marissa Dambra, Amber Arnold and Guinevere Larson.

For Katrina Rath, Molly Boerner, Elizabeth Busboom and Keiana Smith, it was their second consecutive year at 2,500-plus boxes.

Through the Girl Scout Cookie Program, Girl Scouts are able to fund their own adventures or use their proceeds for community service projects. Nearly 11,500 local girls participated in GSNI's Girl Scout Cookie Program. Girl Scouts who reached the 2,500 box level or higher earned a trip to Walt Disney World or New York City.

Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois' 2017 Cookie Program was held Jan. 6 to March 19. 2017 also commemorated the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouts selling cookies.
