Area Attorney to Speak at National Conference

Kerry Lavelle, founding partner of Lavelle Law, Ltd. in Palatine will be among the presenters at the GLSA 2017 Joint Spring Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona in May. Lavelle will be one of the presenters on the topic of Building a Lead Generating System for Your Law Firm. The conference brings together the members and resources of the American Bar Association Solo, Small Firm and General Practice Division, the ABA Standing Committee on Group and Prepaid Legal Services, and the Group Legal Services Association.

"It's always a significant honor to be asked to present at an industry conference," said Lavelle who also spoke at the ABA Annual Conference in 2016 in San Diego. "I enjoy sharing some of the experience I have gained over the past 25 years but I also find that I learn a lot by meeting and talking with peers from around the country during the conference."

As someone who has seen the practice he started grow from one to 26 attorneys, Lavelle is very familiar with the on-going commitment required to generate new business for a firm. "We will discuss how the client development is more than just effort, but relies on an internal system, a well-defined process that can increase results while streamlining the day to day effort of lead generation."

Joining Lavelle at the podium will be Billie Taracio, an attorney who developed the Modern Law practice of Mesa, Arizona.

In 2016, Lavelle spoke on the business aspects of running a law firm, at the American Bar Association's Mid-year Meeting in San Diego. His presentation was concurrent with the release of his book The Business Guide to Law; Creating and Operating a Successful Law Firm.

In early 2017 Lavelle turned over the day to day operation of Lavelle Law to new Managing Partner Ted McGinn in order to focus more on legal work, writing, and educational opportunities in the legal field.

Registration information for the conference can be found at www.glsaonline.org.
