The Trinity International University Concert Choir and Community Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a Masterworks concert together on Sunday afternoon, April 30, at 3:00 pm.

The Masterworks program will include selections from Mozart's "Requiem," Handel's "Messiah," Mendelssohn's "Elijah" and "Song of Praise (Symphony no.2)", Rachmaninoff's "Vocalise," as well as other pieces from the ensemble's spring tour repertoire.

Voice instructor John Hacker will be featured as a vocal soloist for "It Is Enough" from "Elijah."

The Trinity Community Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Eli Chen, is a 70-member ensemble that includes students, alumni, musicians and music educators from the local metropolitan community.

The Concert Choir is Trinity's premier choral organization. The group, which travels both nationally and internationally, has more than 40 members and welcomes both music and non-music majors to participate.

Dr. Paul J. Satre, professor of music and university organist at Trinity, conducts the choir. He will be retiring this spring after teaching at Trinity for more than 20 years.

The concert will take place in the Arnold T. Olson Chapel on the Deerfield campus, located at 2065 Half Day Road. Tickets are $8 for General Admission, $5 for students and seniors, and may be purchased at the door or by calling 847-317-8021.

Following the concert, there will be a Retirement Celebration for Dr. Satre in the Waybright Student Center.
