Indian Grove School held their first McTeacher's Night at the Mount Prospect McDonald's

Indian Grove Elementary School of River Trails School District 26 held their first McTeacher's Night at the Mount Prospect McDonald's on Rand Road on Thursday, April 20. A McTeacher's Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers work at McDonald's and then giving a percentage of the night's sales to the local school.

On Thursday, the restaurant was taken over by teachers excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families to raise money for Indian Grove. The students and families were excited to see their teachers and principals behind the counter and throughout the restaurant.

Thirty-six teachers and staff members worked from the school, including Principal Fisher. The McTeacher's jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, clearing tables, selling pies and even dressing up in a pie costume--all duties which were executed with great enthusiasm.

Teachers had a blast dancing around the restaurant in a pie costume. They were encouraging the families to make a donation and receive a delicious hot apple pie.

Ronald McDonald stopped by to enjoy the festivities and meet the students and staff members from Indian Grove. The students enjoyed getting their picture taken and giving Ronald McDonald high fives!

A special thank you goes to PTC member, Michelle Murphy, who organized the event as well as everyone that worked and attended the event. Indian Grove teachers worked hard and with excitement, while the families enjoyed a spectacular evening. Indian Grove PTC plans to use the money raised for educational assemblies and supporting the recent playground remodel.
