MCC to offer FAFSA Financial Aid Workshop

Current and prospective McHenry County College students who need money for college can apply for financial aid at either an afternoon or evening hands-on workshop to complete the federal financial aid form online using college computers.

Walk-ins are welcome from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, in Room A121 at McHenry County College, 8900 Route 14 in Crystal Lake. An evening workshop is offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 16 in Room A121. Registration is required for the evening workshop.

Staff members from the Office of Financial Aid at MCC will help students and/or parents complete the online form for the 2017-2018 Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The FAFSA form is the required document that students must complete in order to be considered for federal and state grants, work-study, and student loans.

Information to bring to the FAFSA workshops include an FSA ID and 2015 tax returns for student and parents, investment information, social security numbers and bank account information.

No appointment is needed for the April 25 workshop. To register for the May 16 workshop, call (815) 455-8761 or visit the Financial Aid Office in Room A262. For more information about financial aid at MCC, visit www.mchenry.edu/financialaid.
