COD Phi Theta Kappa Chapter in Top 100 Internationally

The College of DuPage chapter of Phi Theta Kappa was recently identified as one of the Top 100 chapters out of 3,500 chapters internationally at the Phi Theta Kappa Annual Convention in Nashville, TN.

During the convention, the chapter's project centering on human trafficking was selected as one of the top 50 Honors-in-Action (HIA) projects. The chapter was recognized in the Top 100 internationally because of its Honors in Action project and College Project which established the COD Fuel Pantry on campus to address food insecurity.

The chapter also received a Regional Milestone Award based on its efforts to increase participation in the society's initiatives that involve membership recruitment, membership development and regional programming.

Under the leadership of Phi Theta Kappa Advisors COD Student Life Coordinator Shannon Hernandez and Speech Communication Professor Steve Schroeder, the COD Phi Theta Kappa's Officer Team includes Mohammed Ali, Kristina Clancy, Lucy Escamilla, Gabriel Gonzalez, Matt Kinsley, Ramin Malaki, Maria Michelis, Marisol Rotter-Moran, Stephanie Owens, Kiley Pooler, Sam Ramakrishian, Hayley Schreiber-Deam, Sam Tempestini, Anthony Tran, Naomi Venezia, and HIA team members George Beck and Heather Blaney.

Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society of two-year colleges that encourages academic achievement and provides opportunity for personal development through honors, leadership, service and fellowship programs.
