Pawberry Lane Pet Café in Lake Villa, Nation's First, Hosts Grand Opening Saturday, April 22; Event Features Pet Support Groups, Fun for Kids

LAKE VILLA - Pawberry Lane Pet Café, the nation's first of its kind offering fresh baked variety of treats for dogs, cats, and horses, celebrates its grand opening Saturday, April 22 from 11 am to 3 pm. Pawberry Lane Pet Café is located at 36047 N US Hwy 45, Lake Villa (847) 752-8486. Lindenhurst/Lake Villa Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting is at Noon.

Owned and operated by Colleen Berg of Wauconda, Pawberry Lane Pet Café http://pawberrylane.com is designed like an old-fashioned country candy shop with indoor and outdoor seating and free Wi-Fi. It is the only cafe of its kind with the human grade all natural treats from Sweaters N Sweets for dogs, cats and horses.

Vet-approved, the treats are made fresh with no additives or preservatives to extend shelf life. Pawberry Lane Pet Cafe specializes in making treats for pets with allergies or sensitivities to foods, custom-making specialty treats to include meat free, grain free, low calorie and accommodate sensitive stomachs, and skin allergies. Its line also includes a variety of treats for dogs and cats with cancer. They are specially designed with cancer fighting ingredients, special digestive enzymes, anti-inflammatory foods, and very low carbs.

There is coffee. tea, hot chocolate, apple cider with water, pop and juice coming this spring. Sweaters N Sweets's dog ice cream and human ice cream (ice cream sandwiches, popsicles, ice cream bars) will be available this summer. Pawbery Lane Pet Café is located in the Pawberry Lane farm house, which provides healthy and all natural foods, supplements, treats, bones, etc. Berg's mother and business partner, Lyn Hallberg, makes hand knit, machine washable sweaters for dogs and cats...from the tiny 3-pound tea cup up to the 100+ pound German Sheppard and Great Dane.

Pawberry Lane Pet Café will host many events, including Paint Party fund raisers, adoption events, ice cream social adoption events, Essential oils pet line classes, bake sale fund raisers, art fair fund raiser, and more.
