McHenry County College to offer on-site dental care Oct. 3

The McHenry County College Chapter of American Association for Women in Community Colleges will host "Smile Programs," a no-cost, mobile dental care service.

Appointments will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, in Room B168 at McHenry County College, 8900 Route 14 in Crystal Lake.

Checkups are open to all MCC students, up to age 25, MCC's Children's Learning Center participants, and all children in the community who register.

The Smile Program's mobile dentists will provide dental care at no cost, as Medicaid, CHIP and most other insurances cover 100 percent of prevention treatment. Dental services can be provided to families who need financial assistance. The dental team will set up a mini-dental office at McHenry County College, and provide dental services for all students and children who return completed forms.

The Smile Programs has been servicing schools, and creating healthy smiles, for over 18 years. All dentists are state-licensed and will conduct a complete dental exam. Signing up your children to see the mobile dental team is an easy and convenient way for them to get necessary dental care.

Registration is required. To register, fill out the dental permission slip; if younger than age 18, it must be signed by guardian, available in MCC's Health and Wellness Office, Room B172. Return slips by Monday, Sept. 25, to Lena Kalemba, MCC's director of Health and Wellness.

Walk-in patients will not be accepted.
