Elgin

• A container with more than 100 compact discs inside of it was stolen between 10 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday from an unlocked 2002 Ford Focus in the 600 block of Spring Street, reports said.

• A GPS and laptop computer bag were reported stolen at 12:33 p.m. Sunday from an unlocked car in an open garage in the 1100 block of Tannery Ridge, reports said.

• Maurice S. Clark, 25, of the 1100 block of Royal Boulevard, Elgin, was arrested at 4:16 a.m. Sunday at State Street and Highland Avenue, reports said. He was charged with a variety of traffic offenses along with attempted obstruction of a peace officer, felony aggravated driving while license revoked and aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol due to three previous DUI arrests, reports said.

• Victor M. Gomez, 42, of the 600 block of Villa Street, Elgin, was arrested and charged with attempted obstruction of justice and aggravated driving while license revoked at 11:01 a.m. Saturday after a traffic stop at Congdon and Morton avenues, reports said. Gomez lost his license because of three previous DUI arrests, reports said.

• A counterfeit $10 bill was passed at a business in the 300 block of State Street at about 5:58 a.m. Saturday, reports said. No arrests were made.

• Two laptop computers were stolen and two bedrooms ransacked between 5 and 7:14 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 1100 block of Apple Lane, reports said.

Huntley

• Two vehicles were burglarized on Niagra Lane on Sunday, Nov. 20, police said. A camcorder and coins were stolen from an unlocked vehicle on the 11900 block of Niagra, while a saw and three nail guns were stolen from a truck on the 11800 block of the street.

• An iPod belonging to a student at Huntley High School was stolen on Thursday, Nov. 17, from a locked gym locker at the high school, police said.

• A Garmin GPS unit was stolen from an unlocked van on Friday, Nov. 18 on the 10300 block of Vine Street, police said.

• Two 17-year-olds were charged Monday, Nov. 21, with criminal damage to property for throwing eggs at a house on the 12000 block of Yellowstone, police said. The teens, Torrey T. Goodrich of the 10800 block of Sawgrass Lane and Brandon R. Laplante of the 4200 block of Coyote Lakes Circle, Lake in the Hills, both posted bond and were assigned a Dec. 4 court date.

• A bicycle was stolen on Tuesday, Nov. 22 from a yard on the 10400 block of Evendale Road, police said.

South Elgin

• Someone spray-painted obscenities on the body and window of a Ford Explorer in the 0-99 block of Marcia Court at about 9:45 p.m. Nov. 19, causing an estimated $500 damage, reports said.

• An iPod was reported stolen at 4 p.m. Nov. 20 from the 800 block of Sundown Road, reports said.

• Someone broke the rear passenger window on a 1997 Honda Civic in the 700 block of Kane Street and stole a car stereo, reports said.

Kane County

• Four firearms were reported stolen or missing Nov. 24 at G.A.T. Guns, 14N915 Dundee Ave., near East Dundee. The weapons were identified as a Remington side-by-side shotgun, a Taurus revolver, a Norinko SKS semiautomatic rifle and a Rossi-Brazetca shotgun. The business told police the weapons were unaccounted for after a routine inventory check, but it might be due to a clerical error, according to a police report.

• An unoccupied house on the 1000 block of Manhatas Trail near Algonquin was reported broken into about 9 p.m. Thursday after a neighbor saw a man in the back yard. Police found a kitchen window screen had been cut.
