I remember back when I was in high school and Apollo 11 landed on the moon. Neil Armstrong proclaimed this to be a giant step for mankind, and it truly was. Well, now we need too take another giant step for mankind and for this one we don't have to leave the planet.
As a father, I believe that next step is to stamp out global warming. With the record-breaking heat in Texas, the droughts Georgia and Florida to the excessive rain and flooding here in Illinois, the earth is sending us an urgent call for help.
Right now, the EPA is proposing a rule to clean up the mega-polluters under the Clean Air Act. By targeting the worst offenders, this rule will quickly cut global warming pollution and spur growth and development of clean-energy technologies. We need to come together and take this giant step for mankind and pressure Mr. Obama and our politicians to back this new rule to help protect our fragile planet for future generations.
We also need Mr. Obama to step up and show the world what kind of leader America is by attending the Copenhagen Climate Summit.
