Three inmates at the Kane County jail in St. Charles face fresh felony charges after attacking a fourth inmate, police said Friday.

The incident happened about 7:30 p.m. Monday in a day room at the housing unit of the jail on Route 38, Sheriff's Lt. Pat Gengler said. He did not have details of the fight but said the victim wasn't seriously injured and refused to sign a complaint.

Charged with mob action, a Class 4 felony, were Titus J. McDaniel, 20; Drew A. Scruggs, 18, and James R. Williams, 31, all of Elgin.

Court records show McDaniel, of the 1200 block of Fleetwood Drive, is being held on charges of armed robbery with a firearm and aggravated armed robbery. Williams, of the 300 block of Perry Street, and Scruggs, of the 200 block of Longford Drive, each face felony weapons charges, including aggravated discharge of a firearm.

The men are scheduled to appear on the latest charges Dec. 3 in front of Kane County Judge Allen M. Anderson.
