Here is a list of holiday events throughout Lake County.

Barrington Tree Lighting

Cook and Main, Barrington. 445 p.m. Dec. 5. Barrington tree lighting and visits with Santa. Barrington High School Madrigals Singers will perform. Free carriage rides downtown starting at 2 p.m.

Breakfast with Santa

Viking Park, Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee. 830-930 a.m. or 1015-1115 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12. Pancakes, Canadian bacon and sausage will be on the menu, with a last-minute chance for children to tell their wishes to Santa. Carriage Rides

Downtown Antioch, Main Street, Skidmore Avenue, Lake Street, Antioch. 1-4 p.m. Saturdays, Nov. 28 to Dec. 19. A horse-drawn carriage will be waiting near Santa's Enchanted Castle on Toft Street. Christmas Open House

Christmas Walk

Downtown Antioch, Main Street, Skidmore Avenue, Lake Street, Antioch. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5. Browse among Antioch's business district and pick up an entry form for a chance to win prizes. As part of the Christmas Walk, Antioch's Holiday Outdoor Market will take place outside the Orchard Plaza on the sidewalks under the overhang. Call the Antioch Chamber of Commerce, (847) 395-2233.

Christmas Parade

Downtown Antioch, Main Street, Skidmore Avenue, Lake Street, Antioch. Friday, Nov. 27. Christmas Walk followed by a Holiday Parade at 630 p.m. immediately followed by a Tree Lighting Ceremony in front of the village hall. Call (847) 395-2160 for details.

Dickens of a Holiday

Cook Park, 413 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, Dec. 5 and 12. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand. Carriage rides, the children's holiday shoppe and a tour of Cook Mansion are among the highlights. A Victorian Tea is planned for 11 a.m. both days at St. Lawrence Episcopal Church, 125 W. Church St., Libertyville. Space is limited and reservations are required, at (847) 680-0336.

Fox Lake Tree Lighting

A Glimpse of Christmas Past

Cuneo Museum and Gardens, 1350 N. Milwaukee Ave., Vernon Hills. 6-830 p.m. Dec. 8-12. The museum will be open and adorned in holiday flowers and decorations. Cost is $8 per person, free for children under 15. (847) 362-3042 or cuneomuseum.org.

Grayslake Tree Lighting

Center Street and Seymour Avenue, downtown Grayslake. 530 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27. Santa and Mrs. Claus, Christmas caroling, crafts, a holiday market and refreshments. Carriage rides from 6-8 p.m. There is no admission charge. (847) 223-6888 or grayslakechamber.com.

Holiday Dogs on Parade

Downtown Antioch, Main Street, Skidmore Avenue, Lake Street, Antioch. 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12. Dogs can dress in costumes or holiday finery. Lineup begins outside on the sidewalk of Orchard Plaza under the overhang. Competing Dogs will be judged, then trot off on a "Doggy Parade" around downtown Antioch. Korpan's Christmas Parade and Children's Party

Grant High School, 285 E. Grand Ave, Fox Lake. Lineup at 10 a.m., steps off at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28. Parade runs west along Grand Avenue to Millennium Park at the corner of Grand and Rollins Road. Children's Party immediately follows the parade, at Lakefront Park, 71 Nippersink Drive, Fox Lake. Lake Villa Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting

Starts at Palombi Middle School, 133 McKinley Ave., Ends at the Metra station downtown on Cedar Ave., Lake Villa. 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28. Libertyville Holiday Walk

Downtown Libertyville. 630 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27. The village tree lighting ceremony is followed by choral performances and a visit from Santa. Downtown stores will have special treats and a preview of holiday decorations. Free. or mainstreetlibertyville.org.

Lollipop Lane

Wheeling Historical Museum, Chamber Park, 251 N. Wolf Road, Wheeling. 630-830 p.m. Monday-Friday; 2-5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Dec. 5-13. Meet Santa and have pictures taken for free. Sponsored by the Wheeling Historical Society. Call Elaine Simpson, (847) 541-8692.

Long Grove Countryside Christmas

Long Grove Holiday Activities

Multi-Chamber Holiday Boutique

Sedgebrook Retirement Community, 800 Audubon Way, Lincolnshire. 1130 a.m. to 130 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3. The Lincolnshire, Buffalo Grove and Wheeling/Prospect Heights Chambers of Commerce offer local shoppers a chance to buy their holiday gifts in one location. Visitors can buy in the Sedgebrook Café from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nonperishable food items and toys will be collected for local charities.
