Dear U.S. Rep. Peter Roskam, I am very upset to learn you voted against the Affordable Health Care Act for America. I fear you have aligned yourself with the insurance companies rather than the people in your district.

The way that health care is run today is abusive and unethical. Health insurance companies are currently focused on how not to pay for peoples health issue, rather than innovations to make the industry better. I believe that HR 3962 will create an innovative new generation of health care for all Americans.

I am one of those people who have been abused by the misguided rules the health care companies set. In 2008, I buried my daughter and son in the 22nd week of my pregnancy. This is because Aetna would not cover the surgery that I needed. Rather, they only cover a less-expensive procedure because, per their rules, I had not lost multiple babies at that time. My doctor didn't control my health care, but rather the insurance company did.

This is wrong in so many ways. And what makes me sad is that my case seems small compared to the many people who have suffered worse under their rules. We would send a man to jail if he killed someone, but we don't make insurance companies be responsible for the many problems they cause in the name of profit.

The health care industry is not doing the right and moral thing and we need our government to help them make good decisions that don't abuse their customers. Please support health care reform. I hope you decide to join the side of right.
