Bartlett's Centennial School Student Council's annual coin drive is underway and runs through Dec. 15.

This year, funds raised from the annual coin drive will support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the leading charitable fundraiser and advocate of Type 1 (juvenile) diabetes research worldwide. The mission of foundation is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.

In the past, the student council has raised more than $2,000 from the annual coin drive.

More than 27,000 coins have been collected to date. The class winning first place is awarded a pizza lunch.

Those from the public who'd like to support the effort can drop off their coins at the school, 234 E. Stearns Road between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
