Buffalo Grove police are trying to piece together an incident that left an unidentified person with knife wounds in his neck early Sunday.
Buffalo Grove police Cmdr. Steve Husak said an officer was traveling on Dundee Road when a man in a van pulled up behind him, tailgated him then passed him at a high rate of speed.
The officer pulled the van over at the corner of Dundee and Buffalo Grove roads at 1 a.m., Husak said, and noticed the unidentified motorist was bleeding heavily from knife wounds around the man's neck.
The officer called in paramedics to assist, who took the man to an area hospital. Husak said the man remains in good condition in the hospital and has been cooperating with police.
The incident remains under investigation, Husak added, but no one had been arrested as of Monday.
