A minor fire broke out at a Vernon Hills restaurant late Saturday afternoon.
Countryside Fire Protection District firefighters were summoned to Angelo's Fine Food, on the 900 block of Route 45, after flames erupted in the building's attic.
No injuries were reported, and Angelo's quickly reopened after the flames were extinguished.
Fire officials said smoke was in the building's interior and coming from the roof and soffet in the back of the restaurant when crews arrived about 5:10 p.m. Saturday. The fire was under control in less than an hour.
A portion of the roof and soffet were removed so firefighters could extinguish the flames. Officials said it's believed the fire was caused by the installation of the roof.
No damage estimate was available.
