Photo exhibit on people with Down syndrome
The "i have a voice" traveling photographic gallery featuring people with Down syndrome is on display at the Des Plaines Public Library now through Nov. 30.
A special reception and talk by Nancy Gianni, founder of GiGi's Playhouse Down syndrome awareness centers and collaborator on the "i have a voice" project, will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. today (Nov. 14). The reception and exhibit are sponsored by Friends of the Library.
The exhibit is on display in the second floor Storytime room. It showcases portraits by renowned photographer Thomas Balsamo. For more information on the exhibit or reception, call (847) 827-5551.
