The Kiwanis Club of Lombard would like to thank the many people who donated baby items to our collection during Make a Difference Day on Oct. 24. Kiwanis members were at Mr. Z's supermarket, collecting items and monetary donations for First Things First, which provides children up to age 3 who live in Lombard or Villa Park with some of the basics: diapers, baby wipes, formula, cereal, lotions, shampoo, soap and other necessities.

Shoppers at Mr. Z's were very generous, donating everything from baby food to diapers to Pedialyte. Shoppers were so enthusiastic in their generosity that the shelves in the baby goods aisle needed to be restocked.

We sincerely appreciate the community's support and generosity. We know that the families who receive the donated items will be touched by the kindness of others. Together, we all can help, one child at a time. If you are interested in getting involved in Kiwanis, check out our Web site, kiwaniscluboflombard.org.
