A 41-year-old Fox River Grove woman arrested at a local motel last year on cocaine and prostitution charges was given a second chance Tuesday, and a stern warning not to abuse it.

Allison C. Dunderdale, of the 1000 block of Northwest Highway, was sentenced to two years probation - the first 12 months of it in an intensive drug program - and a $500 fine for her conviction on a felony drug possession.

A pair of felony prostitution charges filed in connection with her Nov. 19 arrest were dismissed as part of a plea deal on the drug charge. The allegations, authorities said, followed an investigation into reports of prostitution and drug dealing at the River Inn Motel. During the investigation, police said, Dunderdale agreed to perform two sex acts with an undercover officer for $200. County prosecutors had been seeking a two-year prison term, noting Dunderdale's criminal history includes a prior felony drug conviction and several drunken driving convictions. Court documents indicate she also has two previous prostitution arrests on her record.

Dunderdale pleaded for leniency, telling the court "the light really has gone on" for her.

"I know I did wrong in the past," she said. "I'm trying so hard to get my life back together."

Judge Sharon Prather granted the leniency she was seeking, but also warned Dunderdale what would happen if she finds herself back before the court.

"This is absolutely your last chance," Prather said. "If you violate the terms of your probation, you are going to prison. This is the end of the line."
