Apartment fire breaks out in Bensenville
One person was hospitalized for smoke inhalation after a fire in a three-story Bensenville apartment complex Monday afternoon.
Bensenville firefighters were called to the 1000 block of Argyle at 12:30 p.m. after a fire alarm went off in the 24-unit building. Firefighters got the first-floor fire under control in about 35 minutes, officials said.
The apartment where the fire originated was left uninhabitable, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Seven local fire departments assisted in fighting the blaze, which caused about $100,000 in damage, officials said.
