Investigators at the DuPage County Sheriff's Office say two self-admitted gang members are responsible for a home invasion and shooting near Glen Ellyn late last month.
James R. Kral, 20, of Glen Ellyn and Alejandro Roman, 18, of Chicago, are being held at the county jail in Wheaton in lieu of $1 million bonds each. They are both charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm and home invasion in connection with the break-in and shooting Oct. 23 on the 800 block of Busch Road in an unincorporated area of the county near Glen Ellyn. The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m.
Investigators said the two suspects believed there were drugs in the house when the broke in.
A 20-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man inside the house were shot. They were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment their conditions are unknown. A third man who was inside the house at the time of the shooting did not require medical attention.
No court date has been scheduled yet for the men.
