Mt. Prospect ice cream shop closing

Hershey's Olde Fashioned Ice Cream Shoppe in Mount Prospect, which has operated at 1522 N. Elmhurst Road for nearly four years, has announced it will close. Friday, Nov. 13, will the shop's last day of operation. The owners said business has dropped off dramatically, to the point of being almost nonexistent, despite various promotions and specials. The owners said they'll look at the feasibility of trying to reopen next spring.
