First off, thanks to Belvidere High School for hosting the Cross Country 2A Sectionals on Oct. 31.
With the thanks comes the questions. We were charged $5 to park, (this being a first), and while I couldn't count all the cars that were there, they had to number in the hundreds. Put that together with the money from concessions and sales of T-shirts and one would think it was a profitable day for you.
For all the money collected, couldn't you at least open up a room for the cross country athletes to warm up - on a morning where they were outside in 30-plus mph winds on a wet field with temps in the 30s? And couldn't you afford to provide more than just six porta-potties for 20 teams of runners, their coaches, parents and fans? Shame on you, Belvidere High School, for being such poor hosts.
