STICKNEY -- Authorities say two apparently homeless men were killed by an Amtrak train in unincorporated Cook County near the western suburb of Stickney.

Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari says Amtrak train No. 304 train from St. Louis bound for Chicago's Union Station struck the two trespassers about 8:30 Tuesday night.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office says the victims were one black man and one white man, both in their 50s and thought to be homeless.

The train was delayed for three hours after the accident.

Magliari says about 70 passengers and crew were aboard the train and no one on board was injured.
