Firefighters responded to a call this afternoon from a condominium located at 725 Grove Drive in Buffalo Grove. The fire was located in the bedroom and hallway of a second-floor unit.

According to a news release from the Buffalo Grove Fire Department, evacuation was successful and no injuries were reported. Despite this, residents from nine units were unable to remain in the building overnight and are staying with either family or the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and damages are expected to be about $225,000. Due to the amount of fire and heavy smoke, backup was required and the following fire departments helped at the scene: Arlington Heights, Long Grove, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods and Palatine.
