After 33-year-old firefighter and Iraq war veteran Joshua Kuhl died in a motorcycle accident this summer, people across the suburbs chipped in to help his family, including his 1-year-old triplets. Now assistance is coming from an unlikely place: Denmark. A Danish group, called Foundation of Christian The Fourth's Guild, last week awarded the Kuhl children a grant for 3,000 Danish Krones, or approximately $600. The foundation learned about the Kuhls after Linda Steffensen, editor of the Hoffman Estates-based Danish Pioneer Newspaper, clipped a story about the triplets from the Daily Herald and sent it to Denmark. One of the foundation's missions is to help families of multiples. Kalie Kuhl, Josh's wife, said Tuesday that the triplets are doing well and they're all taking their hectic lives one day at a time. The fund set up for the children is The Kuhl Triplets, c/o Sycamore National Bank and Trust, 230 W. State St., Sycamore, IL 60178.
