Two men, one from Hoffman Estates and one from Elmhurst, have been charged with aggravated robbery, Elmhurst police said Tuesday.

Police said the pair robbed two other men about 9:40 p.m. Oct. 27 in the area of Elm and Second streets in Elmhurst.

Charged in connection with the incident were Brandon P. Johnson, 20, of 704 Howard St., Elmhurst, and Darnell S. Olive, 18, of 2122 W. Smethwick Lane, Hoffman Estates.

Detective Cmdr. Daniel Buenz said additional charges may be coming against both suspects.

Buenz said Johnson punched one man and Olive punched the other before they stole the victims' cell phones.

Authorities said one of the suspects displayed what appeared to be a black semiautomatic handgun during the confrontation, but the weapon turned out to be a replica.
