I am 73 years old with Medicare Parts A and B and also have supplemental insurance. My wife, also in her 70s, has similar insurance. We each pay $165 per month for our insurance; $330 each month is affordable for us.
My concern is for the hospitals and doctors who serve us. In a recent day surgery procedure, the surgeon's bill was $1,130. Medicare approved a payment of $65, including the supplemental insurance coverage. In addition, Chicago-area hospitals provide an average of $40 million of unbilled care each year. If everyone has this kind of insurance, doctors will not be able to afford to maintain their practices, and there will soon be no place to go for health care. Urge your Congressman to vote no on health care.
