• Tanya Lee Klassen, 19, of the 1000 block of Bluff City Road, Elgin, was arrested around 6:10 p.m. Oct. 15 in a hotel on the 2100 block of South Arlington Heights Road and charged with prostitution after an undercover officer answered her Web ad. Her court date is Nov. 19.
• Charmaine Gray, 26, of the 300 block of West Scarrit, Springfield, was arrested around 4:25 p.m. Oct. 15 at a hotel on the 0-100 block of West Algonquin Road and charged with prostitution after an undercover officer answered her Web ad. Her court date is Nov. 12.
• Ivan Havrylyan, 19, of the 1300 block of Inverrary Lane, Deerfield, and Ivan Stepul, 20, of the 1300 block of Weston, Arlington Heights, were arrested around 1:36 a.m. Oct. 25 during a traffic stop at Meade Lane and Schaefer Road. Havrylyan was charged with a traffic violation and possession of marijuana; his court date is Nov. 19. Stepul was charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor and felony possession of a fraudulent driver's license; his court dae is Dec. 3.
• Thieves stole a sign valued at $6,000 for the Ritzenthaler building, 3233 N. Arlington Heights Road, around noon Oct. 22. The sign had been knocked down during a traffic accident. A witness saw two men load it into a truck and drive away. The sign included the building's address and directory.
• Thieves stole scrap copper and aluminum, value estimated at $600, out of air conditioning units about to be disassembled in a fenced area behind Automotive Mechanical, 3733 N. Ventura Drive, between 2:30 p.m. Oct. 27 and 5:20 a.m. Oct. 28. Two weeks ago, thieves stole scrap copper valued at $500 out of the same fenced area.
• Vandals punctured the rear driver's-side tire on a 2006 Mercury Milan at Sunset Meadows Park, 700 S. Dwyer Ave., between 11:15 a.m. and noon Oct. 25.
• Thieves stole the rear passenger's-side tire and rim valued at $150 from a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee on the 1500 block of East Central Road between 5 p.m. Oct. 24 and 7 a.m. Oct. 26.
• Vandals spray painted graffiti on the rear doors at seven businesses at 18, 20, 26, 28, 30, 32, and 34 S. Evergreen between Oct. 23 and 26.
• Burglars broke into a 2006 Honda CR-V in a store lot at 800 W. Dundee Road between 8 and 8:25 p.m. Oct. 24 and stole a GPS valued at $330.
Des Plaines
• Burglars stole a women's fur coat, two men's leather coats, two sterling silver men's watches, two women's pearl necklaces, and a digital camera out of a home on the 300 block of Stratford between 7:11 and 10 p.m. Oct. 26. Value was estimated at $5,440.
• Thieves stole six brass fire hose connectors from the east side of a warehouse at 1700 E. Touhy Ave., and six brass connectors from the northwest corner of a warehouse at 1680 E. Touhy Ave., between Oct. 23 and 26. Value was estimated at $2,400.
• Marius P. Iordache, 38, of the 6100 block of Washington, Morton Grove, was arrested around 2;50 p.m. Oct. 27 outside a home on the 300 block of Grove Avenue and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting a peace officer. His court date is Dec. 8.
• Brian R. Krueger, 30, of the 28900 block of Pilgrim Pass, Lakemoor, and Francisco Cruz, 19, of the 400 block of West Touhy Avenue, Des Plaines, were arrested around 9:40 p.m. Oct. 27 after a traffic stop on the 2600 block of South Mannheim Road. Cruz was charged with possession of marijuana and his court date is Nov. 17. Krueger was charged with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and his court date is Nov. 4.
• Peter Bellos, 17, of the 0-100 block of East Millers Road, Des Plaines, was arrested around 3:55 p.m. Oct. 28 on the 700 block of North Wolf Road and charged with possession of marijuana. Reports said an officer found marijuana hidden in his shorts. His court date is Dec. 8.
• Burglars pried a window at a home on the 300 block of Eighth Avenue between 6:45 and 9:35 p.m. Oct. 26 and stole two laptop computers, an iPod, and house phone. Value was estimated at $3,190.
• A man stole 12 packages of cosmetic powder valued at $150 from Jewel-Osco, 1500 S. Lee St., around 8:45 a.m. Oct. 26.
• A man stole five bottles of liquor valued at $122 from Jewel-Osco, 1500 S. Lee St., around 6:20 a.m. Oct. 26.
• Thieves stole four 24-inch chrome rims and tires, valued at $5,200, from a 2008 Dodge Charger at a home on the 700 block of West Millers Road between 10 p.m. Oct. 24 and 12:30 p.m. Oct. 26.
Hoffman Estates
• A vandal driving a go-kart damaged the cricket pitch field at Canterbury Park, 1950 Maureen Drive, around 5:30 p.m. Oct. 16 and between 11 p.m. and midnight Oct. 17. The artificial turf on the field was valued at $7,000, but it was not clear if all the turf would have to be replaced or only the damaged portion. Vandals also had driven in the park overnight Oct. 10-11.
• Burglars broke into a 1995 Honda Civic between 9 and 10:30 a.m. Oct. 22 and broke into a 1978 Ford light duty truck between 7 and 11:30 p.m. Oct. 22 in an apartment lot on the 1700 block of Robin Lane and stole the in-dash stereo out of the Honda and the stereo faceplate out of the Ford.
• Burglars stole an iPod valued at $180 out of a 2006 Acura TL in the front parking lot at St. Hubert Church on the 700 block of Grand Canyon Street between 7 and 8:30 p.m. Oct. 26.
• Thieves pried a LCD projector valued at $1,500 from its cable lock and stole it out of the band room at Hoffman Estates High School, 1100 W. Higgins Road, on an unknown date but reported Sept. 29.
• A man and woman stole several large cans of baby formula from Dominick's, 2575 W. Golf Road, around 4:10 p.m. Oct. 24. They fled in a 1995 Mercedes-Benz.
Mount Prospect
• A robber sprayed pepper spray into a man's face in the entryway at Dunkin Donuts, 820 E. Rand Road, around 9 p.m. Oct. 23 and stole Home Depot "store credit" cards valued at $2,128. The victim advertised the cards on Craigslist, and the offender, calling himself "Mike" arranged to meet the victim and buy the cards. They wrestled in the entryway and in the parking lot, but the robber escaped. He was a male white, 30-40 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 220-230 pounds, and wearing black jeans and white shoes. The victim ripped the robber's black shirt off during the struggle.
• Thieves stole a set of sterling silver flatware, a 19-inch TV, a CD player/radio, and an iron between 9 a.m. And 1:15 p.m. Sept. 30 while movers were transporting the victim's belongings from the Public Storage locker, 708 W. Central Road, to her new home on the 0-100 block of West Wimbolton Drive. Value was estimated at $16,660.
• Burglars broke into at 2008 Kia Versa in an apartment lot on the 1000 block of Tamarack between 6 and 9 p.m. Oct. 25 and stole a GPS unit. Loss was estimated at $250.
• Burglars stole a men's orange mountain bike with front and rear suspension fork valued at $2,000 out of a garage on the 0-100 block of South Edward Street between Oct. 19 and 28.
• Vandals smashed the front glass door at an apartment building on the 1700 block of Chariot Court between 10 a.m. and noon Oct. 24. Damage was estimated at $500.
• Burglars broke into a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche in a driveway on the 400 block of Oriole Lane between 2 and 6:25 p.m. Oct. 25 and stole a GPS unit. Loss was estimated at $469.
• Burglars broke into a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer in a restaurant lot at 303 E. Kensington Road between 8 and 10:30 p.m. Oct. 20 and stole a purse. Loss was estimated at $540.
• Burglars broke into a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck on the 600 block of West Kensington Road between 4 p.m. Oct. 23 and 7:30 a.m. Oct. 24 and stole two cell phones and a GPS unit. Loss was estimated over $450.
Palatine
• Burglars climbed through a window at Vargas Construction Co., 1935 W. Dundee Road, between 10 p.m. Oct. 24 and 4:20 p.m. Oct. 25 and stole a desktop computer, eight nail guns, three cases of silicone, two saws and two quarts of diesel motor oil worth $3,125.
Schaumburg
• Michael A. Mareewa, 23, of the 1400 block of North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, was arrested around 4:40 a.m. Oct. 23 on Roselle Road at Farm Gate and charged with a traffic violation and possession of marijuana. Reports said an officer saw him toss a small bag of the drug out his car window. His court date is Nov. 12.
• Richard Barham, 32, of the 1300 block of Valley Lake Drive, Schaumburg, was arrested around 4:45 a.m. Oct. 23 on the 200 block of Oak Knoll Court and charged with criminal damage to property. Reports said he punched and shattered two triple-pane bedroom windows at his friend's condominium when he became angry when the friend asked him to leave. His court date is Dec. 2.
• Darin M. Stark, 22, of the 1700 block of East 22nd Street, Wheaton, was arrested around 12:50 a.m. Oct. 25 in a hotel lot at 1251 E. American Lane, and charged with criminal damage to property. Reports said he hurled a large rock that cracked the windshield on a 2005 Hyundai while the male victim was sitting inside the car. Damage was estimated at $300. A court date is Nov. 17.
• Thieves stole a black 2007 Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle valued at $11,000 from a parking lot at Streets of Woodfield, 601 N. Martingale Road, between 10 p.m. and midnight Oct. 21.
• Burglars pried open the front door at an apartment on the 900 block of Westwood Drive Oct. 22 and stole
a desktop computer, acoustic guitar, and a jade necklace. Loss was estimated at $2,625.
• A thief stole a wallet valued at $500 out of the employees' area at Monica's Massage Therapy, 652 S. Roselle Road, between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. Oct. 24.
• A man, approximately 19 years old, demanded money from a 39-year-old man when the victim pulled his car into the Salem Plaza lot on the 1000 block of North Salem Drive around 10:30 p.m. Oct. 24. The robber walked up to the driver's-side window, threatened him, took $260 and fled.
