Five people were injured in an auto accident on Route 14 in Fox River Grove Tuesday night, Lake County Sheriff officials said.

Officials said a GMC Yukon traveling west on busy Route 14 struck a Honda Odyssey trying to turn from Pepper Road into the eastbound lanes of Northwest Highway at about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Route 14 was shut down in both directions just outside after the two-vehicle crash and did not reopen until the accident was cleared after 9 p.m.

Five people in the Honda were transported to multiple area hospitals, officials said. None of the injuries were life-threatening, officials said.

The two in the Yukon were treated at the scene and released, officials said.

Officials said the crash remains under investigation and no citations have been issued.
