A McHenry man was sentenced to two years probation after admitting Monday to taking part in an inside job to steal about $14,000 from a McDonald's restaurant.

James M. Joyner, 27, of the 3200 block of Skyway Drive, pleaded guilty to a burglary charge filed in connection with the Oct. 8, 2007, heist pulled off with the help of an assistant manager who gave him and a second burglar her key card.

Joyner also was sentenced to 62 days in the McHenry County jail, which is time he's already served, ordered to pay a $500 fine and, as part of his probation sentence, will be placed on electronic monitoring for at least 90 days during the next 12 months.

He must to return to court next month for a hearing to determine how much restitution he and his co-defendants owe McDonald's.

Joyner was charged along with former restaurant manager Jenntry L. Duddleston, of Pistakee Highlands, and Steven W. Key, of Wonder Lake, of using a key card to get into the restaurant at 7617 Northwest Hwy. in Crystal Lake and remove cash from its safe.

Duddleston was sentenced to two years probation and 90 days electronic monitoring after pleading guilty in April to burglary and theft charges. Key pleaded guilty in July 2008 and was sentenced to four years in prison.
