The Cubs' injury woes keep piling up.

Left fielder Alfonso Soriano was a lineup scratch Friday because of a dislocated little finger on his right hand.

On top of that, ace lefty Ted Lilly will miss tonight's start in Washington because of soreness in his left knee.

Right-hander Randy Wells will move up from Sunday to start Saturday night, and the Cubs will recall righty Kevin Hart to start Sunday. The plan, according to reports, is to have Lilly start Monday night in Philadelphia.

Cubs manager Lou Piniella told reporters that Lilly has been bothered by the knee for "a couple starts" and that it wasn't the reason Lilly didn't pitch in Tuesday's All-Star Game.

Lilly is 9-6 with a 3.18 ERA.

As far as Soriano goes, he jammed the finger sliding back into first base after being caught between first and second Thursday night after getting a basehit.

"I think he's going to miss a few days," Piniella said on his WGN radio pregame show. "He's a tough kid."

Century club: Ryan Theriot became one of five major-league shortstops to reach 100 hits, when he doubled in Thursday's series opener.

Theriot joins Houston's Miguel Tejada, the Yankees' Derek Jeter, Florida's Hanley Ramirez and Toronto's Marco Scutaro as shortstops with at least 100 hits this year.
