Rachel Tack tossed a complete-game 2-hit shutout, as the Corsairs beat host Grayslake Central 4-0 on Thursday.
Tack struck out nine and didn't walk a batter.
Shea Crowley led the offense for Carmel, going 3-for-4 with a double and 2 runs scored. Jocelyn Gravel and Meg Grady (RBI) each went 2-for-3, and Sally Snarski had a single and an RBI.
Lake Zurich 4, Deerfield 3: Ella Aslan was 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI, leading the host Bears to victory.
Lake Zurich (3-1) also got 2-for-3 efforts at the plate from Alex Block and Paige Goldberg, each of whom also had an RBI.
