A teacher at MacArthur Middle School in Prospect Heights has been charged with sexually molesting a student.

Ronald Vos, 53, of the 500 block of Longwood Drive in Buffalo Grove, has been charged with criminal sexual assault of a male from the time he was 13 to 15 years old.

Four separate offenses occurred in Vos' school office and in his car in Wheeling from September 2005 through March 2007, according to a report given Saturday in Cook County Circuit Court in Rolling Meadows.

Authorities also accuse Vos of giving the victim cigarettes and alcohol and exchanging instant messages and e-mails with him.

Vos, who was released on $100,000 bond, has known about the investigation since September and has made no attempt to flee, said his attorney, Dan Hoffman.

Under conditions of the bond, Vos is not allowed to go near any children, including at MacArthur, other schools or parks.
