Kevin Coble scored 14 points and three other players were in double figures as Northwestern defeated UC Riverside 59-43 on Monday night.

Craig Moore, John Shurna and Kyle Rowley each scored 10 points for Northwestern (4-1).

Ahead 11-10, the Wildcats went on a 12-0 run to lead 23-10 with 4:55 left in the first half. Moore scored seven points in the surge.

Northwestern shot 44 percent from the field, while UC Riverside (4-2) was at 24 percent in the first half. The Wildcats led 32-14 at halftime.

After trailing by 20 in the second half, the Highlanders came within 51-40 with 4:23 left on a fast-break layup by Aaron Scott. Northwestern scored the next eight points to end any comeback bid.

Christian Soto and Brandon Dowdy scored 10 points apiece for UC Riverside.
