Computer classes for over 50:

Vista Health's Senior Circle Technology Connection offers individualized computer skills tutoring for people 50 years or older. Sessions will be offered from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 6, Nov. 20, Dec. 4, Dec. 11 and Dec. 18 at Vista Medical Center West, 2615 Washington St., Waukegan. Hospital merger on horizon?

Lake Forest Hospital and Northwestern Memorial HealthCare Monday announced the two have signed a letter of intent for a possible merger. Northwestern Memorial HealthCare is the corporate parent of Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Per a written statement, the new health system would benefit all Lake County residents, regardless of their ability to pay, give them increased access to physicians, clinical trials and Northwestern University research programs, as well as integrated primary, secondary and advanced tertiary services. Northwestern Memorial HealthCare physicians are on the faculty of Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, one of the top 20 medical schools in the nation. Lake Forest Hospital is a 215-bed community hospital with 650 physicians board-certified in 60 medical specialties with offices throughout Lake County. The hospital has been named the Consumer Choice hospital for Lake and Kenosha counties four years in a row by National Research Corp. for having the best doctors, best nurses, best image and reputation and best overall quality.
