Police are investigating a home invasion in Barrington Hills early Saturday in which three or more men bound and gagged people inside the home and held them at gunpoint before leaving with an undisclosed amount of property, authorities said.
No one was physically injured in the incident, according to a news release from the Barrington Hills Police Department. Police said the intruders entered the home in the area of Bateman and Lake-Cook roads through an open basement window. Police were called at 2:24 a.m. Saturday.
While the occupants were bound, the men ransacked the home and then fled with cash, jewelry and electronic equipment.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the break-in. No further information was available Saturday. Authorities are asking anyone with information on the crime to contact the Barrington Hills police investigation division by calling (847) 551-3006. In addition, police are reminding residents to lock all doors and windows when they are not home and at night.
