Chicago Bulls suspend Bobby Portis for 8 games for punching teammate
Chicago Bulls forward Bobby Portis has been suspended for eight games after punching teammate Nikola Mirotic at practice. Mirotic will miss 4-6 weeks following surgery, team officials announced Wednesday.

He threw the ball away on 6 of his 8 incompletions and averted disaster when a snap from Cody Whitehair sailed over his shoulder. Trubisky scooped up the loose ball near his own goal line, evaded the pass rush and threw a safe incompletion.

The Blackhawks mixed up the power-play units at practice Tuesday night, hoping to get a spark from the struggling units in their upcoming games. Head coach Joel Quenneville likes how the Hawks have entered the zone on the power play, but doesn’t like how his team takes so long to find the perfect shot. “(That’s) where we’ve been getting slowed down a little bit,” Quenneville said. “We feel like we have a lot of motion in our 5-on-5 game. Don’t stay stationary or predictable.”
