Girls golf: Lake Zurich earns first sectional berth
Bryana Hogan shot an 85, and Lake Zurich's girls golf team earned a sectional berth for the first time in its history on Thursday.
Team champion Rockford Guilford (342), Lake Zurich (359) and Crystal Lake Central (360) all advanced out of the Class 2A Machesney Park Harlem regional at Atwood Homewood Golf Course in Rockford. The Prospect sectional is next Monday at Mt. Prospect Golf Course.
Kiana Pouyat added an 87 for Lake Zurich, which also counted Abby Watt's 91 and Debby Chung's 96.
Wauconda freshman Liv Romer (98) also advanced.
