Monday's Lake County roundup: Warren baseball team inches closer to NSC title

Dru Jasnoch pitched a complete game, allowing 1 earned run and 6 hits with 4 strikeouts and no walks, as Warren's baseball team downed Stevenson 10-2 Monday, moving the host Blue Devils closer to clinching the North Suburban Conference championship.

Bradley Vondruska was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Warren (23-2, 10-0), which scored 7 runs in the third inning. Casey Cobe was 2-for-4, Ryan DeVries had a single and 3 RBI, and Brian Rapanan had a pair of RBI for the Blue Devils.

For Stevenson (17-7, 8-3), Jake Surane and Michael D'Angelo were both 2-for-4 with an RBI. Surane had a double.

Warren visits Stevenson on Tuesday.

Baseball

Grant 1, Grayslake North 0: Austin Vass and Jimmy Taylor combined on a 2-hitter, as the Bulldogs improved to 10-0 in the Northern Lake County Conference.

Lake Zurich 12, Mundelein 2: Tyler Snep homered twice for the visiting Bears, and Anthony Mangano also hit a home run in the North Suburban Conference game.

Noah DeLuga earned the win, allowing 2 rubs in 5 innings with 8 strikeouts. Snep (2-for-2), Mangano (1-for-4) and Michael Gallus (3-for-4, 2 doubles) all had 3 RBI. Austin LePage was 1-for-2 with 2 walks and an RBI.

Lake Forest 6, Libertyville 4: The Wildcats lost the North Suburban Conference game, despite a solo homer from Andrew Kim.

Tanner Kelly was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Libertyville (14-12, 5-6). Garrison Bennett also doubled for the Wildcats.

Softball

Carmel 3, Marian Central 2: Jordan Swiatkowski hit her 12th home run of the season on Senior Day, and the Corsairs improved to 17-7 and 8-0 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference.

Sydney Schuda also homered for Carmel and earned the win in the circle, striking out eight.
