Crawford gets another start Saturday at Columbus
One day after Corey Crawford made his return to the net, it's all systems go for the Blackhawks' goaltender.
"(Feeling) pretty good," Crawford said after practice Friday. "Back in the swing of things."
Joel Quenneville was so happy with Crawford's play - and response - after the Hawks' 4-1 loss to Arizona Thursday that the coach is starting Crawford Saturday at Columbus.
"That was one of the things we were wondering - how he'd handle the postgame and how he came in today," Quenneville said. "Very encouraging signs. He felt good in all aspects of what he went through and dealt with."
Crawford made 27 saves against Arizona. He now faces ex-teammate Artemi Panarin and the high-octane Blue Jackets, who have scored 22 goals in six games.
"That's a really good team," Crawford said. "They're playing well so it's going to be another exciting one."
Cam Ward will likely start Sunday when the Hawks host Tampa Bay.
After that, Crawford expects to handle his regular workload.
"Sure. Why not?" Crawford said. "I've been working hard with (strength and conditioning coach Paul Goodman). He's got me where I need to be, so I'm in shape right now."
