At a glance:

The Mets are falling off the pace in the NL East. They entered Wednesday night's game at Atlanta with a 26-26 record, having lost seven of their past 10. Injuries are hitting the Mets hard. Pitcher Noah Syndergaard went on the DL this week with a finger injury, and Matz came out of Tuesday's game, also with a finger problem. He is still listed for Sunday. Yoenis Cespedes and Todd Frazier are on the DL, but they could be back soon. Asdrubal Cabrera leads the Mets in the key offensive categories. He entered Wednesday with a line of .315/.353/.550 with 10 homers and 34 RBI. Jeurys Familia had 14 saves, and Jacob deGrom's ERA of 1.52 led the NL. The Cubs' run differential of plus-79 entering Wednesday was tops in the NL and third in MLB behind Houston and Boston. The likely starting pitcher for Saturday is Mike Montgomery, who is filling in for the injured Yu Darvish.
