Softball: Kaneland wins Rosary regional
Emilee Erickson tossed a 1-hitter with 10 strikeouts Saturday as Kaneland's softball team defeated Sycamore 10-0 to win the Class 3A Rosary regional.
Maddy Wheatley had 3 hits for the Knights, including a double, home run and 5 RBI while Donatella Sommesi added 4 hits and 4 RBI. Hannah Theobald also had a double.
Kaneland (23-9) will play Sterling in the Marengo sectional on Wednesday.
