Glass makes 40 saves as IceHogs take Game 5

Jeff Glass made 40 saves and the Rockford IceHogs got goals from Cody Franson, Luke Johnson and David Kampf to beat the Texas Stars 3-1 in Game 5 of the AHL's Western Conference final at BMO Harris Bank Center on Friday.

Glass has stopped 68 of 71 shots in Games 4 and 5 to help Rockford stave off elimination. The Stars lead the series 3-2 with Game 6 in Texas on Monday.

"(Texas) pushed hard tonight," Glass told reporters. "We expected that. Now, we're one win closer to where we want to be, but by no means is the job done."

Franson opened the scoring at 3:01 of the first period. He has 6 goals in 12 playoff games and 15 total in 49 games since being sent to Rockford in January.

Johnson has scored in back-to-back games. Kampf, who had 4 goals and 7 assists in 46 games with the Blackhawks this season, registered his first goal of the postseason.
