Softball: Glenbrook South outslugs Stevenson

Glenbrook South 15, Stevenson 14: At Stevenson, the 13th-seeded Patriots lost the play-in game of the Class 4A Glenbrook South regional, despite getting homers from Emily Freedman, Hailey Barnes, Maggie Trotter and Maggie O'Brien.

Barnes finished 4-for-4 with 2 RBI. Stevenson also got multiple hits from Hailey Peterson (2-for-4, double, 2 RBI), Freedman (2-for-4, 3 RBI), Gina Shanley (2-for-5, double), Trotter (2-for-3, 3 RBI) and Anna Fossier (2-for-3, double, RBI). Carly Perkins had a double.

No. 19 Glenbrook South will play No. 4 Libertyville at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Glenview.

Lakes 10, Elmwood Park 0: At Richmond-Burton, the third-seeded Eagles cruised in their Class 3A regional semifinal.

Lakes will play the winner of Wednesday's game between No. 6 Richmond-Burton and No. 11 Wauconda for the regional championship at 11 a.m. Saturday.
