IceHogs best by Stars in Game 1

The Texas Stars ended Rockford's perfect record in the Calder Cup playoffs with a 4-2 victory Friday night in Game 1 of their best-of-seven series.

Carl Dahlstrom and Chris DiDomenico scored the IceHogs' goals. Dahlstrom's tied the game at 1-1 at 11:19 of the first period, and DiDomenico's tied it at 2-2 at 4:35 of the second.

Texas went up 3-2 on a power-play goal at 8:47 of the second. The goal came with just three seconds remaining on Tanner Kero's interference penalty.

With Texas leading 4-2 and 2:04 remaining in the game, DiDomenico took a 10-minute misconduct penalty (abuse of officials) that essentially ended Rockford's hopes of a comeback.

Game 2 is at Texas on Saturday at 7 p.m.
