Boys water polo: Top seeds to meet at Schaumburg, Buffalo Grove

The top seeds held up at both the Schaumburg and Buffalo Grove sectionals through Friday's semifinals.

At Schaumburg, top seed Barrington came up with a 10-5 victory over Fremd, and second-seeded Conant advanced by handling St. Viator 15-6.

Barrington, the Mid-Suburban League champ, defeated Conant twice during the regular season on its way to a perfect 10-0 mark against MSL West teams.

The Cougars get one more chance against the Broncos, with a state tournament berth at stake, at 11 a.m. Saturday at Schaumburg.

At Buffalo Grove, No. 1 seed Stevenson rolled past No. 4 Libertyville 17-5.

The host Bison, seeded No. 2, advanced by edging out No. 3 seed Mundelein 6-5.

The Mid-Suburban East champs will face Stevenson for the sectional title beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday.
