Baseball: Rupp's 2-hitter lifts St. Charles East

Alec Rupp allowed just 2 hits over 6 innings with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks Tuesday as St. Charles East downed Streamwood 6-0 in Upstate Eight River baseball action.

Charlie Charpenter led the offense for the Saints (15-8-1) with 3 hits including a double and an RBI. Drew Conn added 2 hits with a double, Pat Griffin had 2 RBI and Cole Conn a double.

AJ Reyna and Colin Caminitti had the only hits for Streamwood.

Geneva 14, Elgin 7: Ian Hanson had 4 hits with a home run and 5 RBI for Geneva (13-10-1) in this UEC River win. Adding to the offense for the Vikings were Cullen Geary (2 hits, 2B, 2 RBI) and Nick Black (2 RBI). Sean Baumgartner went 5 innings and allowed 3 hits with 6 strikeouts and a walk for the win. John Fortmann (2 RBI), Tim Mitchell (2 hits, RBI), Jack Sitter (2 hits), Matthew Turner (2B) and Robert Bartlett (2 hits, HR, 2 RBI) led Elgin (6-19).

West Chicago 8, South Elgin 5: Austin Doty had a double and an RBI for South Elgin (8-7-1) while Zach Saunders added 2 hits and Grant Baker 2 hits and an RBI in this UEC Valley game.

West Aurora 9, Bartlett 3: JJ Rivera cracked out 4 hits including 2 doubles and had 3 RBI, Dustin Tomas drove in 3 runs and Danny Marion had a double, home run and 3 RBI for West Aurora (16-6) in the UEC Valley. Alec Losselyoung added 3 hits for the Blackhawks. Tomas pitched a complete game for the win, allowing 7 hits with 10 strikeouts and no walks. Matt Angelone had 3 hits for Bartlett (8-13).

CL Central 9, Dundee-Crown 8: Erik Hedmark (2 hits, 2B), Evan Wenc (2 hits, RBI), Zach Hahn (2 hits, 2B, 3 RBI), Justin Lawson (HR) and Justin Colon (2 hits, 3 RBI) led D-C (5-21, 3-15) in its Fox Valley Conference loss.

Huntley 3, McHenry 0: Hunter Rumachik fired the shutout for Huntley (20-5, 12-4), allowing 7 hits with 4 strikeouts and a walk. Michael Talesky had 2 hits and an RBI for the Red Raiders and Joey Petryniec added 2 hits.

CL South 10, Hampshire 2: Harrison Hinz had 2 hits with 4 RBI as Crystal Lake South (10-11-1, 7-9) won this FVC tilt. Adding to the Gators' offense were Blake Kuffel (2 hits, RBI), Steve Siavelis (2B, 2 RBI) and Patrick Fischer (2 hits, RBI). Kyle Lang was the winning pitcher, striking out 7 and walking 1. Kevin Michaelsen and Carlos Puente had RBI for Hampshire (11-1, 4-12).

Prairie Ridge 8, Jacobs 5: Braeden Wegner had 3 hits with a double and an RBI for Jacobs (13-9-1, 9-6) in the FVC. Liam Oreskovich added 2 hits with a double and an RBI for the Golden Eagles while Daniel Murray added a double and 3 RBI and Daniel Klein had a double.

Burlington Central 8, Johnsburg 2: Ryan Knowlton had 2 hits including a home run while Andrew Griffin added 3 hits with a double and an RBI for the Rockets (16-9, 11-3) in their Kishwaukee River win. Colton Wallace added 2 RBI and Tyler Perez picked up the win for BC.

ACC 12, Fenton 5: Kyle Czerak (2 doubles, 2 RBI) and Eric Valles (2B, 3 RBI) had 3 hits each for Aurora Central (16-10, 7-8) in its Metro Suburban win. Hunter Darnell added 2 hits and 2 RBI for the Chargers while Chris Cartwright had a triple, Mac Doherty 2 hits and an RBI and Adam Dickerson 2 RBI. Nathan Sundberg struck out 7 in 4 innings for the win.

Timothy Christian 14, St. Edward 1: Matthew Schimbke had a double and an RBI for the Green Wave (6-21, 3-14) in its MSC loss.

Morris 8, Kaneland 1: In the Northern Illinois Big XII East, Nick Ortegel drove in the only run for Kaneland (15-8, 7-4).

Batavia 14, Wheaton North 4: Jared Martin clubbed 2 hits including a home run and had 2 RBI for Batavia (16-8) in a nonconference win. Also producing for the Bulldogs were Carter Gette (2 hits, 2B, 2 RBI), Blake Carlson (2 hits, RBI) and Joey Sartain (3B, 2 RBI). Brad Niedzwiedz allowed 6 hits and had 4 strikeouts and 1 walk in the complete game win.

Aurora Christian 6, Lake Park 5: In nonconference action, Hunter Thompson (2 hits) delivered the game winner for the Eagles in the bottom of the eighth inning. Adding to the offense for AC (21-2) were Eric Hernandez (3 hits), MJ Stavola (2 RBI), Sam Tickel (3 hits) and Trey Madsen (2 hits).
